Powerskating is a fast-paced learning environment where hockey and ringette skaters ages 6-9 years will enhance the basic skating skills required to excel in their sport. Lessons are 75 minutes once a week. Balance, stopping, starts, proper skating technique, strides, and turns are taught in small group formats, incorporating drills and games.

Skaters are required to know how to skate. This is not a learn-to-skate program.

Skater must be 6, 7, 8 or 9 years of age by the first lesson or within a month of starting the program.

Mandatory Equipment
  • skaters are required to wear full hockey/ringette gear, and bring their sticks.
  • CSA Approved Hockey Helmet - full face shields are recommended (click here for Skate Canada policy)
