CanSkate is Skate Canada's flagship learn-to-skate program, designed for beginners aged 5 and up. Lessons are 45 minutes either once or twice a week.
CanSkate is a program that focuses on fun, participation and basic skating skill development. Skaters progress at their own rate and earn ribbons/badges as well as other incentives as they learn fundamental skating skills.
Lessons are given in a group format and led by a NCCP certified professional coach.  Professional coaches are assisted by trained Program Assistants.
CanSkate is the feeder program to all other Skate Canada skating programs. Click here to see what happens after CanSkate.
Parents are NOT allowed on the ice but are requested to stay or have another designated adult stay to help out if the child needs to come off the ice. (i.e. washroom, skate tightening etc).

Note: Our Club has two learn-to-skate programs: one for 3-5 years olds called PreCanSkate and one for 5 year olds and up called CanSkate. PreCanSkate is not a prerequisite for CanSkate.
